The capability and competitiveness of the mechatronics field in the North-Estonia and South-Finland region

The study titled “The capability and competitiveness of the mechatronics field in the North-Estonia and South-Finland region” was organized within the framework of the INNOREG project. The study analysis were made by a working group of HeiVäl Consulting consultants from August to October in 2011.

The study showed that:

Estonian companies behave like single squirrels. They are flexible and make continuous changes, but develop new products mainly within their own organizations and cooperate significantly less compared to Finnish colleagues.

Finnish companies act like group of lions. They are focused on corporate clients, and other partners to work with them. They measure significant number of technical parameters and as a rule already during the production process, not after the production. Finnish companies focus also on sales and customer service of larger clients and with focus beyond Europe. That allows them to work in more stabilized manner.
